Broken is not always bad

"broken" is a word my brain always equated with bad. Broken was not neutral, never good, always bad. Broken, to me meant "needs to be fixed to be of any value or use". "you break it. You buy I. You own it!"  as a small child, in my trip to Favorite small town pharmacy complete with soda fountain counter, I learned broken costs. A small bottle with penny and tiny ship inside somehow shattered on the floor as I walked past and ... The $1.06 was months of spending change and all soda. I trembled anytime I went near that store after that. I was not just the breaker. I was broken with no one to fix, purchase or own me....
